Sometimes I felt I was not understood so maybe I could have been listened to.

All the staff are kind, understanding and completely supportive of my son. I have no doubts whatsoever that they are all totally dedicated and caring and try their absolute best to treat my son with respect and dignity.

The laundry arrangements need to be improved-he has lost over 100 pairs of socks in the 8 years he has been there and it is not surprising when you learn about how the arrangement works.
Nobody ever talked to me about the benefits he maybe entitled to claim. I have only just learnt that for the last 8 years he was entitled to claim PIP. I learnt by accident from a staff member that he could have claimed this benefit. I have been financially supporting him from my old age pension for 8 years. When someone enters the clinic, parents/carers ( if there are any) should be told by the hospital what their loved one could claim regarding benefits. I have only just learnt this as he is about to be discharged. Financially this has been somewhat disastrous!
